Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington has worked as a TV host, journalist as well as a philanthropist, author and journalist for more than ten years. She also is the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. She moved to Greece to England aged 16 where she earned an MA at Cambridge University in Economics. The first non-English student to graduate, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. As a conservative syndicated blogger, after graduating she went on to become a voice of the Huffington Post. The fame of her name helped to get a number of prominent contributors to share their opinions on news, politics, and other topics. Arianna was famous in 2003, when she ran as an independent in California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. She was also involved in the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for cars that are fuel efficient. Forbes listed her 12th in its list for the Most Popular Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their Top 100 list in the year 2010. AOL Inc. named her president of their media company in 2011 following the acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included the other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Her parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist.
