Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US. She is a Greek-American author, syndicated journalist and businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, author, philanthropist, television host, and owner of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece and relocated to England at the age of sixteen. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. At 21 she became president of the famed debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student who was elected to this position. Then she became a syndicated conservative writer following graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a year following, she launched an online voice platform which offered critiques of politics. Her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna gained notoriety in 2003 when she ran as an independent in California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside that, she led an initiative in Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient vehicles. Her name was voted as the most Influential Women in Media by Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th spot on the list. That same year Guardian included her in the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media division in 2011 after they bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included additional AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is a daughter born to Konstantinos a management advisor and journalist. While she enjoyed a strong friendship with her mother and father, it was their bond that helped shape her. When she was a teen she displayed leadership qualities that she still is known for. At the age of 16, she travelled to England for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college and was the first woman to hold the position of the president. In 1972, she earned a master's degree in Economics. Her professional career as TV host and journalist was born after graduation. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
